Step 1: Prepare Your Devices and Network
1. For Xiaomi TVs or other TVs, set-top boxes, and projectors:
Ensure both your mobile device and external display are connected to the same Wi-Fi network for optimal performance. If they're on different networks, it may take longer to find the external monitor and connect.
Note: Older TV models may not support casting across different networks.
2. For non-Xiaomi brands:
Make sure both your mobile device and external display are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
If the devices cannot be connected to the same network, activate the Miracast feature on the external display. The Miracast function may have different names depending on the brand (e.g., "Wireless Display" or "Screen Mirroring").
Step 2: Enable Casting
Swipe down from the top of your phone's screen to open the notification shade and tap the "Cast" icon.
Ensure both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are turned on for a more stable connection.
To cast specific content like photos, videos, or games, use the built-in casting options within those apps.
Step 3: Choose Your Device
Select your external device from the list of available devices, and the content will start casting.
Troubleshooting: Unable to Connect to External Devices?
1. For Xiaomi devices:
If you cannot find your Xiaomi TV or device in the list, ensure both your mobile device and the external display are on the same network or try connecting the display to your mobile device’s hotspot.
If no network is available, check if the external display's casting feature is up-to-date, turn on Bluetooth on both devices, and enable Miracast on the TV.
2. First-time Xiaomi casting:
If it's your first time casting to a Xiaomi device, you may need to complete verification before the connection is established.
3. For non-Xiaomi devices:
Make sure both devices are on the same network or use your mobile device's hotspot to connect the external display.
If network connection isn't possible, confirm that the external display supports Miracast (or equivalent) and that it's enabled.
4. Reporting issues:
If you encounter any problems, you can report them via the "Services & Feedback" app on your device for further assistance.
